Respondus LockDown Browser

Follow

ALL In Learning is partnered with the Respondus LockDown browser to create a secure, cheat-adverse testing environment.

When activating an assessment with the Respondus browser, students are locked in the assessment window until they finish their assessment, or "X" out of it. (Teacher permission is required for re-entry.)

Please note: Respondus is not compatible with iPads.

Initial Set Up

Step 1: District Admins must contact ALL In Learning support by clicking the green Live Chat button or emailing us to request the Respondus LockDown browser. Please let us know what devices the students use and we will provide the appropriate installer.

Click here for the Chromebook install link.

Step 2: Install Respondus on student devices. (Each campus may have a different procedure. Usually, the IT team installs the browser.)

  1.  Once the assessment is created or shared with you, click Activate>Post to Student Portal.
  2.  Select the desired class(es) and click Start for Selected Classes
  3.  Scroll to security settings and click Yes to enable Respondus LockDown.
  4. Click Next>Activate

LockDown Browser in Student Portal

Students or teachers using their devices can test the LockDown browser installation by clicking the blue Test LockDown browser installation button and then clicking this test link.

  • If the LockDown browser opens and you see a green message, then the LockDown browser is successfully installed.
  • If the LockDown browser does not open, contact your campus IT team.

Once you confirm the browser is installed, students can launch the assessment. They will be locked in their browser until they click I'm Finished or click the "X" on the upper right. If a student gets locked out of the assessment, because they clicked the "X" before they were finished, the teacher can restore their access.

Restoring Student Access

  • Teacher device: Open the grading screen (Home>Active Sessions>Activate), click on the hand next to the student's name, and click Restore access.
  • Student device: If a student is kicked out, they will see a message asking for teacher credentials the next time they launch the assessment. Enter the email and password associated with your ALL In Learning account and the student can access the assessment again
